- How do I know if Natural Choice Nurseries is right for me?
There are many considerations when choosing a nursery including location and price. However, the most important aspect is that it needs to feel right for you.
Our website has lots of information, but nothing can substitute for a visit, where you can see for yourself who we are and what we do. Some families come more than once so that they can be confident that all questions have been asked and the whole family is happy.
Do you have any spaces available?
Both our nurseries are very busy and as spaces are limited we have waiting lists for admissions. If you are interested in a space, please discuss it with our managers as soon as possible.
My child has never been away from me before, how will they cope?
Natural Choice Nurseries prides itself on the flexible, supportive settling in process that it offers families. Some children settle immediately, and some need longer to become used to being away from the home environment. Whatever your family needs, our staff will help you through this process ensuring both children and parents are confident they have made the right choice of childcare.
What are the options to help a child settle into Nursery?
We have a number of settling in options to ensure our staff are confident that they can meet yours and your child’s needs.
- Unlimited sessions, in advance of starting, if a small voluntary administration fee is paid
- Pay by the hour, at our ad hoc rate
- Claim funding hours (as soon as the child is eligible)
at least one settling session is mandatory (More for SEN children)
How will I know what my child gets up to at nursery?
Natural Choice Nurseries staff will give you a detailed handover at the end of the day, so you know how your child has been, what they have eaten and if they have slept. We also share photos via an online journal for you to see then having fun during the week.
Do you offer Nursery Education Grant Free sessions?
Natural Choice Nurseries offer free Nursery Education Grant sessions for 2, 3 and 4-year-olds. Sessions are in demand so please discuss this with your nursery manager as early as possible. We only offer stretched funding (51 weeks of the year) and do not offer Term Time only spaces. 30 hours funding is only maximised by taking more than 2 day sessions or more than 4 half day sessions. My child has food allergies, can NCN manage this?
Natural Choice Nurseries prides itself on being able to manage food allergies. We have children attending both settings with a wide variety of allergies including nuts, milk, gluten etc. Our cooks work with parents to understand the needs of the child and prepares special food which is suitable. We ensure that the children learn that allergies are not something to be embarrassed about, they are normal, so they learn to check with adults that the food is safe for them. This helps them stay safe as they start to spend time without their parents, such as at children’s parties.
Does the nursery accept Childcare vouchers?
Yes, both settings are registered with all the main childcare voucher providers and most parents use the Tax Free Childcare scheme to save money. Remember though when you set up your TFC account, you need to send us the money – we can’t call it off!
Does NCN have a Privacy Policy?

The Data Protection Act 1998 puts in place certain safeguards regarding the use of personal data by organisations, including the Department of Education (DfE), local authorities and schools. Natural Choice Nurseries are registered with the ICO and we collect and hold personal information relating to our parents and children and may also receive information about them from their previous setting, local authority and/or the Department for Education (DfE). We use this personal data to:
- Support our pupils’ learning and monitor and report on their progress.
- Provide appropriate care; and
- Assess the quality of our services.
- Assess their eligibility for a funded place.
This information will include their contact details, attendance information, any exclusion information, where they go after they leave us and personal characteristics such as their ethnic group, any special educational needs they may have as well as relevant medical information. This should be read in conjunction with the Local Authority Privacy Notice which is available online.
